The Community Partnering Program (CPP) was created in 1999 by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, in coordination with its 26 member agencies. It provides sponsorships and selected activities for community-based nonprofit organizations, professional associations and public agencies.

Metropolitan accepts applications from nonprofit organizations that promote discussion and educational activities for regional water quality, conservation and reliability issues.

Among other programs, Metropolitan provides support for:

  • Water conservation programs and activities
  • Community water awareness programs
  • Watershed education outreach programs
  • Environmental museum exhibits
  • Public policy water conferences
  • Water quality education programs
