On December 8, in a vote taken during its regularly scheduled meeting, the Metropolitan Board formally ratified the October 13 withdrawal from the Board’s consideration of the tentative labor agreements that had been developed through a negotiating process among representatives of management and Metropolitan’s four employee bargaining units, in effect rejecting the tentative agreements and directing the negotiators to return to the bargaining table.
